Crayon Art on Canvas Tutorial!

So I've been on Pinterest.. A LOT (addicted much) and I keep on seeing these really cool crayon art pieces on canvas. Sooooo I decided to try it out! Note: This was my second try.. the first one didn't look all that great, I think this one was little better. 

I decided to make this into a small tutorial to show you how it's done.

Supplies needed: 

• Blank Canvas (any size)
• Crayons (new or old, i used old ones)
• Glue Gun
• Hair Dryer
• Newspaper (the crayons tend to splatter)

    1.  First, you will need to glue the crayons onto the canvas using your hot glue gun. (I used and 8x10 canvas and used old broken crayons I found because I didn't want them to take over the whole canvas, I would of used nice new ones if I had a bigger canvas though)

     2.  Now prop your canvas up, set your blow dryer on high, and go for it! (not real sure how to    describe this step lol) I angled my blow dryer a little bit to spread the color around more. 

    3.   TADA!!! You now have a pretty cool piece of art that's fairly simple to do :)

    

I think next time I do this I'll maybe tape the crayons on so when it's done I can take them off :)

I smudged some ink on the cheese on accident :( I hate when that happens!

Simple Christmas Card

Hi everyone, today I came up with this simple Christmas tree card. I'm going to make a whole bunch of these with some ladies at a retirement home in a couple days. I thought this was was pretty simple enough so that they could do it easily :)

The paper is from The Christmas Combo Stack by DCVW, The tree is actually from a card making kit that I picked up at Craft Warehouse real cheap. I used my cuttlebug to make those swirls on it, and the tree stump is some kraft cardstock :)

Birthday Pony Card :)

Howdy y'all! :) My little cousin's birthday is coming up and she LOVES HORSES! My grandpa asked me if I would make her a card for him to give to her. All he wanted was a horse on it, and she loves the color purple so I whipped this up :)

So last week my mom's friend's daughter gave me a tour of U of O because I'm interested in going there, it was super nice of her to take her day off and show me around and give me information and all so I wanted to thank her with this adorable card :)

I finally got a Cuttlebug which I'm super happy about, so I just had to try it out and thats how I made those cute little dots :)! The sheep is from Create a Critter and the stamp is from one of My Pink Stamper's stamps.

During the summer I went and volunteered at a retirement home, I made some cards with some of the ladies there. They had a blast and wanted me to come back to make Christmas cards with them. Here's some of the cards we made :)

Hi everyone, as most of you have figured out by now, I haven't blogged anything for like 4 months! Here's why, during the summer I pretty much just got really lazy and didn't really want to make anything. Then when school started up, I had/have a lot of stuff to do. Homework, essays, college applications, filling out scholorships. I've also just been feeling kind of.. I guess you could say a little "depressed", not crafty, unartistic, I haven't really been inspired to make anything. But these last couple weeks, I've been inspired again! I feel really crafty lately, which I'm super happy about! :) So, I'll be blogging a lot more now. And thank you Court, for that comment you left me, it made me really want to start showing my work again :) I think I'll go make something now! WOOHOOOOOO! LOL :)

Purple Cupcakes:)!

Hi everyone, today my cousin and I made some cupcakes from scratch! Im not sure what we did wrong, but every time I do make them from scratch, they turn out dense and they taste like sweet cornbread. Do any of you have any good recipes? I guess I'll just have to keep on trying till I find the perfect one. But of course, the frosting made up for the not-so-great cupcake part. Well, they didn't taste bad, they just weren't light and fluffy :)

At least I have the whole summer to come up with a perfect cupcake recipe!! :)

Cricut Cake!!! :D

Hi everyone :) For my birthday last week I got the Cricut Cake Mini !!! My cousin and I made these adorable cupcakes :) The butterfly was cut from homemade gum paste and was from Create a Critter. I love how they turned out! It was alot of work though and at times frustrating but in the end they were nice. :)

The butterfly was supposed to stand straight up on the cupcake, but for some reason they weren't hardening, so we had to lay them down.

Calligraphy Project!

Hi everyone, for my final in calligraphy I had to create a piece to go to the state fair. I've been working on this for months, and I just love this style of writing. Here's my final piece :) (I really want to win a ribbon!!) :)

I've spent so much time practicing this, I really wanted it to be perfect! :)

Hey everyone! Yay it's finally Friday! This week has gone by soooo slow. I'm so happy for this weekend, I'm leaving for the beach later today. Yaaaaay! :D I made this card the other day :) Hopefully, the sun will come out at the beach, I think its supposed to rain though :( But I don't care, I'm just happy to be at the beach!!

Hello Cutie Pie Card :)!

Hi everyone! I made this sweet card using the Simply Charmed Cartridge (my new favorite!). I also used the same blue paper as I did on my baby boy card lol :) I dont like cherry pie, but the cherry on this little guy makes him even more happy! :)

Baby Boy Card!

I made this card for a challenge at My Creative Time.  But then I realized she had already chosen the winner and I was too late! Lol. Oops. Anyways, the challenge was to use the Doodlecharms cartridge and the color blue. I think it's really cute and sweet:) Now I just have to find someone to give it to lol :)

Love Bug!

So I just got the Simply Charmed Cartridge last weekend! I'm SO happy I finally have it!! :D We usually try and get them off eBay for around $20 but we've waited forever and we can never seem to get it. Joanns was having a sale last week, all cricut cartridges $30, and because I really wanted it and my birthday is soon (hehe) my mom bought it for me! Yay! :)

I made this adorable little love bug card!:)

I can tell this cartridge and I are going to be the best of friends ;)

Pretty Butterfly Card :)

Happy Sunday everyone!:) The challenge at Birthday Sundaes is to create a birthday card with pearls and lace. I found the lace in a drawer and thought it was really pretty, so I decided to use it :) I added a butterfly from Create a Critter. I accidentally got a smudge of ink on it though :( But its still pretty so oh well :)

Cupcakes and a Cupcake Box! :)

Hi everyone! :) For my Marketing 1 class we had to design some sort of product packaging. I was SO excited that my teacher said we had to do this, because I could use my creative abilities! Lol, its kinda funny, my dad saw me working on this and asked why I didn't put as much effort into Math and I do this. Well, because math is hard and boring, and being creative is easy and fun! :D Anyways, I decided to make a cupcake box, like a prototype box for my cupcake shop (I HOPE!), and of course I just HAD to make cupcakes to put inside it! I brought them to school today and my teacher said he was impressed and he really loved my cupcakes, and so did everyone else! :D Not trying to be rude or something..... but mine was the best project there ;) hehehe

I started with a plain box I got from the Fred Meyer's Bakery 

Since the scrapbooking paper I wanted to cover it in wasn't big enough and I did have enough of it, I used magenta wrapping paper. This was hard because I didn't want it to rip, so my lovely mommy helped me:) <3

I also put pink polka dots all over it! We had to include things like nutrition facts, where it was made, how much it weighed, product name etc. I had such a hard time deciding on what cupcake to use! I finally decided on this one from the Sweet Treats cartridge. The font is from the Hello Kitty Font cartridge.

Yum? YES! :)

Sorry for such the long post! I'm just so proud of myself, I LOVE how it turned out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
